Ghosts are spirits of the dead that continue to haunt us still because of unfinished business or for some other reason. They are scary. The mere idea of a ghost even if it's a family member lurking beneath the walls of our house gives me goosebumps all over.

Here is a list of mysterious and ghostly places in India.

1. Delhi Cantt - At night in this place certainly gets the eerie -spooky feel. People have reported multiple sightings of a woman in white saree, coming out of the lush green and waving hands to the passers-by asking for lifts. If denied, the lady then reportedly chases them. Some even reported that she even knocks the door, even if the car is at high-speed, she'll run along and knock.

2. Feroz Shah Kotla - It is Situated on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, this place was built in 1354 by Feroz Shah Tughlaq. It is a beautifully constructed structure and is the representation of the rich architecture of its time, but it is also one of the haunted locations in Delhi. The place to date gives the first impression of a place haunted by ghosts, especially, because of very few visitors. The place is said to be haunted by Djinns residing in the dark, spooky halls.

3. Lothian Cemetery - Cemeteries have always been the most obvious places that everyone associates with the supernatural, ghosts, spirits, etc. The Lothian Cemetery in Delhi is the oldest cemetery in the city. Many people who died in the revolt of 1857 were buried in this cemetery including General Nicholson, who was shot in the head. Reports are there that people have seen his ghost spooking people at night. There's another story, involving a young Englishman, who shot himself in the head, for his incomplete love of an Indian woman. The place even looks creepy in the daylight.

4. Khooni Darwaza - Located at the Bahadur Shah Zafar Road, Vikram Nagar, this is one of the most dreadful places in Delhi. The place is even creepier by the name. There are reports of blood dripping from the ceilings and voices screaming at nights. It is rumored that the ghosts of three sons of Bahadur Shah Zafar haunt the place.

5. Sanjay Van - This place is still unknown to many people, even those living in the very state. During the daytime, this place doesn't look creepy, in fact, it is an interesting place to get away for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers. It is a small forest expanding ten sq km and is very close to Qutub Minar. However, Sanjay Van also houses several Majaars and graves; also, some mishaps have also occurred in that place. Recently enough, a woman was found murdered in Sanjay Van. At night, this place certainly gets creepy, and it is best that you stay away from this place.
